Delphic maintains a protected system for ranking question-market opportunities across an expert firm's mapped portfolio. It does not rank topics by traffic alone. The system considers the legitimate authority behind a family, estimated demand, present AI ownership, credible public supply, attainable headroom, commercial relevance, disclosure cost and available response evidence. This public record establishes those evidence domains, the decision output and the route to application. The rules that compare unlike signals and determine priority remain private.

## What exists

The Delphic Question-Market Opportunity Ranking System is a protected method for deciding which mapped buyer-question markets deserve attention first—and which should remain under observation or be deliberately held.

Its unit is not a content idea. It is a question family already connected to the firm's legitimate authority, the available market evidence and an approved disclosure context.

| Record field | Public description |
|---|---|
| **Owner** | Delphic |
| **Unit ranked** | A validated question family inside a mapped portfolio |
| **Evidence domains** | Legitimate authority, estimated demand, AI ownership, credible public supply, attainable potential, commercial relevance, disclosure cost and available response evidence |
| **Output** | An ordered portfolio with confidence, evidence basis, limiting condition and next-decision status |
| **Possible status** | Opportunity, observation or deliberate hold |
| **Intended use** | Directing research, public-evidence work, product investigation and management attention without turning every signal into activity |

This record names the system and the evidence territory it governs. It does not disclose how the ranking is produced.

## What this record establishes

A market can look attractive on one signal and weak on another. Demand without legitimate authority may identify a market the firm should not claim. Authority without demand may not justify investment. Headroom without an acceptable disclosure line may not be buildable. A rival win may reflect a structural advantage rather than an opportunity.

The public [question-market intelligence framework](../question-market-intelligence/) explains why demand, AI ownership, public supply and treatment evidence must be read together. [Potential](../measuring-potential/) adds attainable headroom. The private [question-market map](../map-private-expertise-to-question-markets/) establishes which families the firm's knowledge can legitimately support.

The ranking system consumes those governed records. Its role is to turn a portfolio containing several plausible markets into an ordered decision record without pretending that every family has equally complete evidence.

An opportunity ranking is therefore not a content calendar. It can direct attention towards a market, require further evidence, preserve observation or recommend restraint.

## Access and verification

Application requires a mapped portfolio and the evidence currently available for each family. The protected [demand estimator](../estimate-query-volume-for-question-family/) can supply one input where a question-level demand estimate is required; it does not decide the ranking by itself.

The client receives the resulting order together with the visible evidence basis, confidence, limiting condition and next-decision status for each family. The ranking can be reviewed as new demand, supply, position or response evidence enters the Knowledge Index.

The client retains the authority to approve investment and disclosure. The system prioritises the evidence; it does not authorise protected knowledge to become public.

## What remains protected

The public record does not disclose the assessment rules inside each evidence domain, the way unlike signals are compared, the treatment of missing or conflicting evidence, the conditions separating opportunity from observation or hold, or the rules that produce the final order.

Those elements contain Delphic's portfolio judgement. The public page establishes that the system exists, what it governs, what it returns and how it can be applied without making the ranking reproducible.

## Disclosure line

Golden-nugget core: hidden

Public at this line: Delphic's ownership of the ranking system; a mapped question family as its unit; the broad authority, demand, ownership, supply, potential, commercial, disclosure and response evidence domains it can consider; an ordered, confidence-labelled decision record as its output; and the route to an applied portfolio ranking.

Held at this line: Delphic keeps private how each evidence domain is assessed, how unlike signals are compared, how conflicts and missing evidence are handled, what separates an opportunity from an observation or hold, and how final priorities are set.

Access path: Delphic applies the protected ranking system to the client's mapped question families and returns an ordered decision record with the evidence basis, confidence, limiting condition and appropriate next decision for each family.

## Applied client output

An ordered, confidence-labelled portfolio of question-market opportunities, observations and holds, with the evidence basis and limiting condition attached to each.
